The idea for the singers began on a run with a group of neighbors, brainstorming about ways to bring more music into the neighborhood. We are a group of neighbors who formed a choir and practice on Saturday afternoons, usually at the Guthrie Theater on the 8th floor. JD Steele is our director, and his brother Fred is the accompanist.
We have sung at Holidazzle, the MacPhail Music Matters Luncheon, at Westminster Presbyterian Church for a SuperBowl Event, Bold Hope in the North, at Orchestra Hall, the Loring Park Music Festival, and every summer we sing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' at a Minnesota Twins game. Stay tuned for news about our next session of rehearsals, but make plans now to come sing with us . . .the only requirement is a desire to make music with your neighbors and to be a ‘friend’ of the Mill District!
